Happy Birthday Parties!

Hello Blog Buddies!

I have recently been fortunate enough to be invited to a few birthday celebrations.
It is always lovely to be included with a friend's personal milestone.

My 'Glamour Sister' Gulay recently turned 30 and a few of her
girlfriends and I celebrated at a local Indian restaurant.

Here is my other 'Glamour Sister'.... Alison....

... And we now all have our matching bracelets!!

Too cute!

At this restaurant, 'The Birthday Person' has the delightful experience of wearing
'The Snazzy Birthday Turban"...

... I think that you will agree that Gulay is probably the only
person I know that could make this hat look as exotic as she does!

It was such a fun night!

Happy Birthday to my gorgeous friend!

We then had another family gathering that also celebrated a birthday.

G.G. (Gorgeous Guy) and I decided to have this particular family function at our house.

There were flowers and the festive cake...

The birthday song was sung and the candles blown ... with a little help!

I had made the cake and it was a bit of a funny shape... I nearly made another one, but G.G. said, (As we gazed at it cooling on the kitchen bench) "Just throw some more icing on it"...
I am not sure the deception was convincing?!

(It tasted ok!!)

Here are the dessert glasses we used so I think
'The-Cake-That-Looked-Like-A-Cob-Loaf" is now just family folk-lore.

I hope you all manage to celebrate your family and friend's milestones...
It's important to mark joy, big or small in our lives.

Is It That Time of Year Again?

Hello Blog Buddies!

I can hardly believe that another year has whizzed past! My 'Little Chickens' are in their final term of Prep and will be in Grade 1 in a few short weeks... Ahhh-mazing!

This week I celebrated another Birthday so I thought I would show you some pictures of a fabulous party the parents of my classroom put together for me...

(Squeals of delight...) ... There was a colour theme!!

Pink and white dots everywhere... Balloons on every chair... including mine...

Birthday cake...

... matching napkins...

... scrumptious snacks...

... and even matching cups!

There were lolly bags for all..

... delivered with style ...

... on... (be still my heart) ... a white tray!

(These were going home to my house for G.G.)

It was all delicious!

Finally, there was dancing with 'DJ Tennille'... Fantastic FUN!

The numerous bunches of flowers made it safely home.

The parents all know my favourite colour...

(... And so does G.G. who has also added to the flower arrangements at home...)

So pretty.

I nearly ran out of vases...

... What a simply lovely predicament to have!

I feel so fortunate...

and completely over-whelmed by the parents efforts. They all went to so much trouble and made me feel very appreciated. Thank you all soooo much. oxox

If you look carefully below, you might be able to figure out the card G.G. gave me this year...!!

(If you are scratching your head, see previous Birthday Blog!)

Oh... before I go... the children also made me an amazing gift...
but it is so gorgeous, it deserves it's own blog post...
So stay tuned!!

Birthdays... Yay!

Hello Blog Buddies!

This half of the year is 'birthday season' in our family. Many members of our family, as well as close friends are all celebrating another year of life.

My dear friend Carrie and I met at a Mother's Group when we were both new mums. We had both just had our gorgeous daughters and have remained close friends ever since. (The fact that our daughters are both turning seventeen this year is all rather startling to us both!)

During these school holidays, Carrie came to our house for lunch with her daughter Laura, for a very 'chatty catch-up' with myself and my daughter, (The Divine Miss M.)

As three out of four of us were celebrating a birthday within a couple of months of each other we decided we should have a 'combined birthday party'.... Yay!!

So I clapped my hands in delight as a 'colour theme' would be in order...(Yay again!)

The Divine Ms M made lollie-bags....

... There were party drinks ...

... Birthday cakes and candles.. and a pretty table set.

Presents ....

... and beautiful cards were also there.

It was All Kinds Of Fun!

And because one birthday celebration is simply not enough...

Ms M and I had a lovely afternoon tea here....

It was fabulous! You simply have to love a menu that simply lists tea!

It was so relaxing being waited on...

And the food was de-vine!

But the best part by far was spending time enjoying a 'girlie' experience with my gorgeous daughter.

Are you having a birthday soon? If so...

Birthday Ahoy!

(If you have no clue what this means.... refer to this post... Here )
