Halloween

Hello Blogging Buddies!

Today in sunny, warm Melbourne, it is Halloween. So, as the children in my class requested some 'Halloween Happenings,' we spent a little bit of time creating some spooky items.

In addition to some research regarding the historical origins of Halloween, the children were asked to create a model from card depicting an image associated with the celebration of Halloween.

I find children are far more creative when they have limited instructions when completing a creative project. The only stipulation I insisted on with this activity was that it had to be free-standing.

By the end of the session, desk tops were covered with pumpkins, cats and other spooky props.

Given that today we have finally managed some warmer weather, (It reached over 34oC today)

making some craft items in class was a lovely cool activity.

We also watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" .......... which will always put a smile on your face...

....or Jack-o-Lantern !

Happy Halloween!
